On the 15th of September, the 2022 Orientation and Education meeting for new incoming International Students studying at JUFE, China was held. Vice President Liu Xiaoli attended the meeting. The heads of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, OICE, the School of Information Management, the School of International Economics and Trade, and those in charge of other departmental units were present, including all teachers of the Overseas Education School, OES. A total of 152 new students from 54 countries attended the meeting, and it was presided over by Huang Xianming, Dean of the OES.

Liu Xiaoli extended a warm welcome and addressed all the freshmen on behalf of the school. She pointed out that after a century of persistent pursuit and the passing on of the torch from generation to generation, the school has established the motto of Honesty, Vitality, Integrity, and Tenacity. Through the university's spirit of dedication, happiness, and perfection, JUFE has cultivated a large number of famous people, elite alumni, and outstanding international graduates who identify with Chinese culture both at home and abroad. "To everyone, I hope this can be used as an example and goal", she said. Liu Xiaoli expressed four hopes for freshmen;

I hope that everyone will work hard to learn Chinese culture and the language, understand China's economic development, and become a bridge and link between friendly exchanges and cooperation between home countries and China; I hope you can learn to integrate knowledge and deeds, mature in theoretical learning and practical exploration, and improve hands-on skills through practice; I hope everyone concentrates on academics, grasp the concept of being disciplined, and expand your depth of thinking. We hope that everyone will study hard, dare to question, and seek truth in communication with both teachers and classmates.

Gong Meijun introduced the development process of the internationalization of our school to the freshmen, suggesting that everyone should have the courage to challenge themselves, seize opportunities and stimulate their potential; strengthen teamwork, condense wisdom, help each other; adhere to language as the basis, expand their horizons, and lay the foundation for an in-depth understanding of real China.

Nguyen Thu Hien, a freshman from Vietnam, gave her speech online via Tencent Meeting as she expressed how happy she was to become a member of the JUFE family. She promised to study hard and constantly seek knowledge, as she firmly affirmed that only by hard work can we harvest. Mifameno, a new student from Madagascar also gave a speech representing all the new students. She also expressed her love for the city of Nanchang, and that she likes Nanchang's slow-paced life, Nanchang's spicy food, and believes that Nanchang is her dream place to sail. George from Zimbabwe shared his experience of campus study and life on behalf of JUFE's old students. He iterated his hope that the freshmen would cherish their time at JUFE, focus on their studies, and must also actively participate in extracurricular in order to gain maximum exposure to what China has to offer as well as to enrich their overseas study life.

The relevant staff of the OES then went further to explain and educate the new students about visas, insurance, tuition fee payment, dormitory management, and other specific matters. They also reinforced the need to abide by laws, making clear the university's and country's anti-drug and anti-fraud stance, and emphasized relevant laws and regulations. Teaching Schools will also provide other specific departmental information to freshmen to ensure that freshmen can adapt to JUFE's study and way of life as soon as possible.
