On September 26, the 2022 Northeast Asian Youth Sustainable Development Study Camp was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. Li Bin, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Song Qingling Foundation of China, delivered a speech via a recorded video. Zhao Hui, the Jiangxi Provincial Foreign Affairs Office Director and President of Jiangxi Foreign Friends Association, attended the ceremony. Liu Xiaoli, the Vice President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics was invited to attend. Huang Xianming, Dean of the Overseas Education School, and representatives of teachers and students were also among the attendees

Five student representatives of our school participated in the study camp together with representatives of teachers and students from three other universities in Nanchang. The campers visited the Nanchang Lin En Tea Research Garden, the VR Industrial Park, Nanchang Porcelain Plate Painting Art Museum, Nanchang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and Nanchang Gaosong Sino-Japanese Friendship Hall as well as other places that showcased the culture and development achievements of Jiangxi. This provided an understanding of the dividends of Nanchang's opening-up policy and all participants felt the strong momentum of Jiangxi's open economy.

As the locals would say, “A wisp of tea smoke is clear, and the hanging pot is full of fragrance. In Lin En Tea Research Garden in Meiling Scenic Area, elegant skills, coupled with sharing Chinese tea culture and tea etiquette knowledge have attracted continuous praise from campers. The new tea brewing experience process allows campers to try out new tricks and experience different elegance.

Using porcelain as paper, draw the ultimate beauty that will never fade. At the Porcelain Plate Painting Art Museum in Wo Long Mountain, Nanchang, there is a wall at the museum written about the inheritance of several generations of porcelain painting artists in the late Qing Dynasty. The vivid portraits on the white porcelain board aroused the strong interest of campers. After attentively watching the lead painter's demonstration, the campers indulged in making porcelain plate paintings, selecting pens, dipping ingredients, and coloring.

Zhang Keying, a student representative, commented that the study camp activity has narrowed the distance between young people from different parts of the world, thus ideas from different cultural backgrounds can now intertwine in the study camp, to truly support the theme of the study camp: “Create a better world, and achieve a better self!” Mohanned, a Yemeni student, shared at the camper's seminar that this was an interesting activity. He went on to thank the organizers and JUFE for the opportunity to experience the charm of Chinese culture. At the same time, he was amazed at the opportunity of meeting outstanding young people from all over the world to make milk tea, experience Virtual Reality, and draw porcelain plate paintings with them. “I hope we can continue this friendship, long-term exchange, and mutual learning!”, he said.

Saiyedul, a Bangladeshi student, was awarded the title of Best Camper and spoke at the camp on behalf of all foreign campers. He said: The Northeast Asian Youth Sustainable Development Camp has built a humanistic exchange platform for us to understand each other, enhance friendship and promote development. The three-day visit to Nanchang allowed us to experience the unique charm of Jiangxi culture and feel the speed of China's development. I will play my role in promoting exchanges between Chinese and foreign civilizations and learning, and strive to achieve a ‘better self, a better world’.”

Thanks to the camp, Chinese and foreign students in our university have a new understanding of Chinese culture and Jiangxi's economic development. Foreign students have expressed their willingness to become messengers of cultural exchanges, tell Chinese stories to the world, and tell Jiangxi stories as well. In addition, the study camp activities have also expanded the friendship circle between Chinese and foreign students. Young students from different countries have learned a lot.
