The Sixth International Cultural Salon — Gabon Night

On the evening of March 22nd,the Sixth International Cultural Salon — Gabon Night was held at the International Student House. This cultural salon was organized by OES, with Gabonese students taking charge. It attracted participation from over 50 countries' students, including those from Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, and more. The event focused on promoting Sino-African friendly exchanges, highlighting Gabon's cultural characteristics, cultural and tourism resources, economic development, and folk traditions. It was hosted by Gabonese student MOUSSAVOU KOUMBA THERENCE.

He first introduced basic information about Gabon, including its geographical location, population, current president, national flag, and ethnic groups. Then, he elaborated on Gabon's current economic development status, its position and influence in the African region, the conservation of natural resources, and vividly portrayed the national image of Gabon.

In addition to politics and economy, Gabonese students also introduced the country's unique cuisine, beverages, and tourism resources, allowing the teachers and students present to have a more comprehensive understanding of the country's charm. At the event, Gabonese students served the audience with locally-made delicacies and signature beverages they personally prepared, vividly describing the process of making Gabonese cuisine. The delicious food and sweet drinks received praise from the teachers and students in attendance.

During the interactive session of the salon, participants engaged in discussions about the cultural characteristics of Gabon, sharing their insights and experiences. Gabonese students, with their unique perspective, passionately spoke about their love and understanding of Gabonese culture, deepening the attendees' understanding of Gabonese culture. Finally, Gabonese students sang traditional songs and led everyone in lively traditional dances, adding a vibrant finale to the event.

The Gabon Cultural Salon deepened the understanding of Gabonese culture among the teachers and students, and also promoted civilized exchanges and mutual learning. OES will continue to organize cultural exchange events, opening windows for the broader community to understand the world and facilitating cross-cultural exchanges and understanding.
