On June 25th, the Setting Off from JUFE, Aiming for the whole world 2025 Graduation Gala for international students was successfully held in the Grand Auditorium of the North Campus at Jiaoqiao Campus. Dean Huang Xianming, Vice Deans Li Qing and Wan Yina of the Overseas Education School, along with course instructors, class advisors, and all international students gathered together to witness this vibrant and multicultural celebration, sending heartfelt blessings to the graduates.

Dean Huang Xianming delivered a keynote speech titled Resilience to the international students. He emphasized that in today’s world—marked by rapid transformation and global uncertainty—resilience means not just perseverance, but the ability to adapt, rebuild, and grow in the face of adversity. It’s the wisdom and grace to rise again, the steady pace forward despite occasional setbacks, and the hope that prevents failure from defining one's present or future.

He noted that as global development remains uneven and incomplete, human progress demands resilience more than ever. While reform, policy innovation, and institutional improvement are important, at its core, resilience relies on those who never give up. Graduates from JUFE will become strong pillars in their home countries—future policymakers, reformers, and leaders. With the knowledge and global vision honed at JUFE, they will design better solutions, formulate more effective policies, and improve their societies. Their leadership will enable their nations to better face and adapt to future challenges.

Dean Huang also invoked JUFE’s school motto—“Integrity, Diligence, Honest, Perseverance”—to encourage graduates and offered three hopes: 1- Be Bridge Builders – Promote mutual understanding between civilizations and contribute to building a shared future for humanity. 2- Be Pioneers of Innovation – Embrace both Eastern and Western wisdom, and actively engage in international cooperation and innovation. 3- Be Lifelong Light Seekers – Adopt a mindset of lifelong learning, strive for excellence, and support peace and development around the world.

The gala showcased the integration of Chinese and international cultures, delivering a splendid audiovisual feast. The energetic street dance “Whiplash” ignited the atmosphere from the start. Moroccan and Indian students performed a duet “When Roses Hurt,” while Indonesian students brought to life ancient legends from their homeland through graceful dance. Musical performances such as “Dancing With A Stranger” bridged hearts with harmony. Student ambassadors from over 20 countries including Morocco, Indonesia, and Kenya confidently took the stage in colorful national attire, proudly waving their flags during a global fashion show that vividly portrayed the beauty of diversity and cultural harmony. The heartfelt choral performance of “Friends” by the entire faculty of the Overseas Education School brought the evening to an emotional climax, capturing the deep bonds between teachers and students.

Mark, a graduate representative from Uganda, reflected emotionally:“My years at JUFE not only gave me solid academic knowledge but also gifted me deep friendships that crossed oceans and borders. The inclusive nature of Chinese culture has become part of my very soul—it’s now part of my spiritual home.”

Zheng Jiali, a language program graduate from Indonesia, shared in fluent Chinese “From my first discovery of Chinese characters at the language corner, to immersing in Eastern charm during the cultural festival; from the fragrance of Dragon Boat Festival zongzi to the Mid-Autumn moon symbolizing longing, and the red Spring Festival blessings cut from paper—all these moments, full of Chinese wisdom, are etched in my heart as warm and precious memories.”

At the gala, Dean Huang Xianming presented certificates to the 2025 International Alumni Ambassadors, Vice Dean Li Qing awarded the 2025 Excellent International Graduate Awards, and Vice Dean Wan Yina presented the 2025 International Student Solidarity and Friendship Awards.

In the grand finale, faculty and students took a joyful family photo together—smiling faces capturing the most beautiful note of youth.

“Like a great roc soaring a thousand miles,”we wish the Class of 2025 international graduates to carry their “global aspirations” forward, turning what they’ve learned at JUFE and their firsthand experiences of China into bridges of understanding, voices of cultural dialogue, and powerful contributions to a brighter, shared global future.
