Information   on courses open to language students

1.   At JUFE, language students are enrolled in the   Overseas Education School (OES).

2.   The OES offers four levels for the language  students: Zero Basis class, Elementary Level class, Intermediate Level class and Advanced Level class. Each class has five courses per semester including  comprehensive Chinese, listening, speaking, reading and training course for  HSK.

3.  The three cultural courses offered to the  exchange students are also available for language students. The courses are Introduction to China, Chinese Business Culture and Chinese Martial Arts.

Full-time   workload

1.  A language student   normally takes 5-7courses per semester based on 2-4 credits per course.

2.   JUFE credits are   awarded for courses taught for 1 teaching hour per week.

▲Minimum   workload per semester is 6 credits (about 3 courses).

▲ Maximum   workload allowed per semester is 25 credits.

Upon arrival at   JUFE, the student can access the time table and choose the classes according   to their Chinese proficiency level.

Grading system

The grading system of JUFE IS 100%,60% or more is  consider a pass.

The final examination is 60% and other assessment  is 40%,which includes attendance,class perpformance,presentations and   mid-semester exam.

Academic transcript

1.   After the examination results are released,a   transcript and certificate of completing will be issued .

2.   If a language student fails in one or more course(s),he/she  will not receive the certificate of completion of his/her studies, only a   transcript of the grades will be provided.

Pick up   service

JUFE  Volunteer Team will offer free pick up service for language students at the  beginning of the semester.

Orientation

The Orientation will be held at the  first week of a semester.It inculdes a general orientation meeting,campus   tour,welcome party,course registration meeting,Chinese Proficiency test,etc.

Student   Support

Office

The  JUFE Volunteer Team is ready to support and assist you.

The  team consists of about 70 JUFE students,who will be on duty in the Student  Support Office on the 1st floor of the International Students Apartment.

Language partner

Find  a language partner from JUFE Volunteer Team to participate in activities   together and help each other in learning languages.

Pair-sharing

International  students may visit JUFE teachers’ families, experience the local family life, going on trips, making Chinese food, etc.

Room rent

A double room in the International Students Apartment is 1500 RMB per Semester.   

Room  equipment: a suit(a Shower, an air conditioner, a bed, a table, a seat, a   dresser, a wardrobe and a TV).6 Public kitchens( one of them muslim) and   public laundries are provided in the apartment.

Health check

The health check fee is 460 RMB.

Health check is mandatory if you want to apply for residential permit   in China.

Residence permit

(multiple entries)

400 RMB for less than one year, 800 RMB for one year.

Insurance (Mandatory)

400 RMB/ half year, 800 RMB/ one year, or you can buy International insurance in   your home country.

Text books

About  350 RMB per semester for language program textbooks.

Room deposit

200  RMB (refundable).

Electricity

About   100-150 RMB/Month (0.62Yuan per kilowatt hour）
