X1 Visa/ X2 Visa
X1 Visa is issued to those who intend to study in China for a period of more than 180 days. X2 Visa is issued to those who intend to study in China for a period of no more than 180 days. X1 and X2 Visa both are a single entry visa and holder must apply for a residence permit at the local public security authorities within 30 days of entry into China. However, students are required to get a health report from the Nanchang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

L Visa
 L visa is issued to those who intend to go to China for touring, sightseeing or visiting friends.

F Visa
 F visa  is usually issued to foreigners who are invited to conduct a lecture, an investigation, scientific and cultural exchanges, study tours and other non-business activities in China.

Residence Permit
 Residence permit is basically a multiple entry visa to the mainland China before the expiry date and it always states the purpose of the stay. X1 visa holders must apply it within 30 days of arriving in China. Residence Permit is renewable.
