Ⅰ. Educational Objectives
This major is set for the staff who are interested in the management of Chinese public departments from government agencies, multinational enterprises, international organizations, research institutes and international non-profit organizations all over the world, as well as the senior managers of foreign government agencies in China, multinational enterprises in China, international organizations in China and the international non-profit organizations in China, aiming at training compound and application-oriented high-level talents engaged in various management tasks for government departments and non-governmental public organizations. This program enables students to master the knowledge and critical thinking skills required in today's complex and changing political environment.
1. General Objective: To cultivate compound and application-oriented high-level talents who fully understand and master the professional knowledge of public administration, and who are competent in the fields of public affairs, administrative management and public policy.
2. Quality Objective: To cultivate students who are committed, morally sound, and physically and mentally healthy, having a good understanding of China's basic national conditions, and maintaining a friendly relationship with China.
3. Professional Learning Objectives: Focus on the professional research with breadth and depth. Applicants of public administration degrees are required to have a solid theoretical foundation, a broad public management knowledge horizon and strong learning and research capabilities. After graduation, the students shall be qualified for the jobs of government management, teaching, research and so on.

Ⅲ. Courses and Graduation Credit Requirements
Total Credit for Graduation: 38 credits
1. Compulsory Courses (including degree courses, public compulsory courses and specialized compulsory courses ): 9 subjects, 18 credits
2. Elective Courses(including specialized elective courses and optional courses): 6 subjects, 12 credits
3. Social research: 2 credits
4. To finish the graduation dissertation and pass the graduation dissertation oral defense: 6 credits
Ⅳ.Length of Schooling
The normal length of schooling is 2 years. The first two semesters are for the academics learning, and the third and the fourth semesters are designed for the social investigation and research and the graduation dissertation writing and oral defense.
If the students can’t get the required credits during 2 years for some reason, they can apply for an extension of 3 months in advance to the Graduate School under the tutor’s permission, and they will get the extension after the Graduate School’s permission. The maximal length of schooling is 4 years, or the student status shall be canceled.

Ⅵ. Course Assessment
All courses will be examined before the end of every semester. If the students pass the exam,they will get the relevant credit. The specific assessment methods shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of the “Master Degree Program Outline for Postgraduates of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.”
Ⅶ. Interim Assessment
The second year students will have an interim assessment during September and December, and all the assessment work shall be done before December, 30th.
For students who can’t participate in interim assessment for some reason, they should apply for a delay before the assessment time and get the extension only once under the permission of his tutor and institute. In principle, the test shall be finished three month after permission.
The students will get a “fail” in their interim examination, if they are absent from the test without filing an application or with their applications rejected.
The specific assessment methods will be listed in “Implementation Methods for the Interim Assessment of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (Revised)”.
Ⅷ.Scientific Research Requirement
The postgraduate must finish personal training program under the tutor’s guidance, join the scientific research activities under the requirement of personal training program, actively participate in the scientific research project relevant with the tutor, and positively apply for various scientific research fund.
Ⅸ. Academic Dissertation
The master dissertation should indicate that the author has a solid theoretical foundation and systematic specialized knowledge, proposes newideas in their project and displays capabilities to work on scientific research or undertake specialized technical work independently.
The postgraduates usually should decide on the range of their dissertation topics after literature reading, data collecting and investigation withinthe second semester, and finish the dissertation proposal before the first four weeks of the fourth semester. Tutors and the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee are responsible for checking the progress of postgraduate’s dissertation.
