With golden horses stepping into spring, blessings fill the campus. On the afternoon of February 12, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics successfully held the 2026 Spring Festival Garden Party for international students under the theme “Galloping Horses Celebrate the New Year” at the small square south of Building D of the international student dormitory. Vice President Yuan Honglin, representatives from the Exit-Entry Administration Division of the Nanchang Public Security Bureau, the Economic Development Zone Public Security Sub-bureau, all staff from the Overseas Education School, and international students gathered together to enjoy a cultural feast rich in the spirit of the Chinese New Year.

At the beginning of the event, international students signed in in an orderly manner, received raffle tickets, and placed them into the lottery box, eagerly starting their garden party experience. Twelve themed booths were arranged across the venue. Cultural experience booths such as paper cutting, calligraphy, fan painting, and origami allowed students to personally explore the charm of traditional Chinese culture under the guidance of teachers. At the fun game booths—such as three-legged races, picking balls with chopsticks, and pitch-pot games—laughter filled the air as students from different countries cooperated to complete challenges, building friendships through interaction. Students who collected stamps from six booths could redeem Chinese-style gifts, bringing home joyful New Year memories.

At 3:00 p.m., an opening song and dance performance ignited the atmosphere and officially kicked off the event. In his New Year speech, Vice President Yuan Honglin extended sincere holiday greetings to all international students and highlighted the university’s achievements in education and international student programs over the past year. Significant progress was made in “Double First-Class” development and integrated reforms in education, science, and talent cultivation. The total number of international students reached 920, a record high, with a 31.7% year-on-year increase in postgraduate (master’s and doctoral) students. Yuan noted that the Overseas Education School serves as an important window for the university’s global engagement, while international students act as vital bridges connecting Chinese and foreign cultures and friendships.

Looking ahead to 2026, themed as the “Year of Academic Innovation,” the university will continue strengthening the “Study at JUFE” brand and provide better support and services for international students. He also encouraged students to become ambassadors of cultural exchange, sharing the warmth and positive experiences they have gained in China and at the university with friends and family back home, helping more people understand a real, multidimensional, and vibrant China, as well as the university’s pursuit of excellence. The event then featured the drawing of first, second, and third prizes, bringing excitement and joy to the lucky winners and pushing the atmosphere to its peak.

This garden party was not only a joyful New Year celebration but also a vivid lesson in cross-cultural exchange. Through immersive experiences of traditional Chinese New Year customs, international students gained a deeper understanding of the cultural significance of the Spring Festival and strengthened their emotional connection to China. In the future, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics will continue to build diverse and open platforms for cultural exchange, enhance international education efforts, support the growth and success of international students in China, and cultivate more outstanding global talents who understand, befriend, and contribute to China.
